Jude Simpson – Poet, wordsmith, performer
Homestart asked me to write a poem for them for World Poetry Day, 21st March. With this week also being the anniversary of the first lockdown, the poem became a reflection on the nature of Hope. Many of us have lived by hope, grasped hope, or felt we lost hope over the last 12 months. My poem suggests that hope is grittier and more resilient than we sometimes think… What’s your view?
If the poem moves you, please consider donating to Homestart – they are a brilliant organisation working with families in crisis – bringing hope in a range of difficult circumstances.
